All of the fancy new management styles and methods just don't really matter to me. Over the last several years, I've heard all kinds of terms like scrum development, extreme programming, agile development, time boxing, and rapid application development. I even had the pleasure of being on projects where some of the styles have been used. Now, I'm sure that from the right perspective, some of the principles of these methods have value.
But on the developer level, I find that it really just doesn't matter all that much. I've worked as an IT Developer for a little over 10 years now. And when you strip away all of the double talk terms, the only development method that I've ever really had is the "get this done as fast as possible" method. No matter what project method was used, this was the end result.
