So what happened in 2009 in the world of Business Casual? Quite a bit actually.

For one, I successfully updated the comic three times a week for the entire year. It was hard to do at times, and I definitely felt the increasing burden of keeping up with the comic. But I think that the comic works better with the three days per week. And the extra writing and drawing practice I get with the additional comics is probably good to have.

I also increased the number of comic conventions that I attended after getting my feet wet with the two that I attended in 2008. In 2009, I was a guest of four conventions. Some went well, some not so well, but all of them were beneficial to me in some way or the other. I'm looking once again to increase the number of conventions that I hit for 2010, and I'll be posting my tentative schedule on the site soon.

One of the biggest achievements of the last year, however, is that the number of Business Casual readers nearly doubled over the course of the year. While it's only a couple hundred extra readers, the comic is getting to the point where it seems like it's getting noticed in places where I did no plugging of my own. From random blog and community posts to mentions in podcasts, I've seen the comic start to show up in comic conversations. And each and every time I see the comic out in the public, I'm ecstatic that people are enjoying it enough to share the comic with others.

So what will 2010 hold? I know I've said it before, but this year my main goal is to get the first collected volume of Business Casual together. It's long overdue, and I can't wait to hold the book in my hands. I'm also hoping to give the site a mini overhaul and update a few things around here. From the horribly outdated cast page to the neglected gallery, the site has a lot of things that are starting to show a bit of rust.

And I hope that these things will just be the tip of the iceberg! Let's hope that 2010 will be the best year yet for Business Casual!
