By now, you've probably figured out that I'm not the greatest fan of pie charts. I just don't understand the fascination with them. I guess I'm more of a bar chart kind of guy. Or better yet, just give me the actual data. I understand numbers. I can tell that 300 is greater than 254. Really, it's true. I don't even need a calculator to see that. I'm able to see that if we spent $1,000 on one project and $10,000 on another, that the piece of pie will be much larger for the much larger number. Color coding it into a circular format isn't going to give me extra insight.

Of course, trendlines are another story. Seeing those make me happy on the inside.
