In case you haven't noticed, it's close to Valentine's Day. And now that I have a daughter, I'm expected to get her something for Valentine's Day as well. I'm ok with that. A Dad getting gifts for his daughter is cute, sweet, and all that razzmatazz. But then my wife asks me, "What are you going to get your son?"
"Nothing" was my response.
I just can't see the reasoning behind getting him something for Valentine's Day because that's not something I really see as a father-son kind of thing. I'll take him to a baseball game instead. But probably not. I'm too cheap, it's kinda far away, and I'm pretty lazy. And he's still a little too young to enjoy it. You know what, maybe I should just get him something. It sounds more economical and there's less hassle involved.
Now, I just need to get my wife to accept that her Valentine's day gift is the current comics that I've been doing. Somehow, I don't think it will work though. Russel Stover, you had me at "I do."
