So after the first week of
GoDaddy hosting, I can say that they are definitely
not the best web host out there. The site's load times skyrocketed after the GoDaddy move, and we even had a few database failures resulting in forum data loss. This twas' not cool. The price is great and all, but I expected a little better quality.
So in comes
BlueHost. Their hosting has been good so far. The only thing that I think needs work with them is that they are a little slow to answer support emails. I've had to use their live chat when I had questions about my setup. The live chat worked pretty good, but I would like to know that the email option is available.
Anyway, watch for a new Business Casual annoucement on Monday. The site looks good and the forum appears to be working smoothly now as well.

The move has started. While some of the site is working, it may be a day or two before everything is ported over to the new host.

After a week or two as a member of the
GoDaddy community, Business Casual is moving to a more reliable web host. The site will probably be down sometime soon, but we'll hopefully get better service after that.

Business Casual will be transferring domains in the upcoming days. If you see that the site is down, that's probably the reason.
Fuitadnet was a good host for a while, but they've not had the same level of customer service that they once did before the takeover/buyout. Hopefully, the move to
GoDaddy will be a smooth one.
Here's hoping.

I don't remember doing a blank post, but anything is possible.
And it only took me 3 days to notice. Is that quick enough?

Almost a year without anything on the main page (except a blank post from Pete). Nobody cares. Woner how long it'll be before someone notices this posting.

Will I ever do another comic? Honestly, I don't know. I kinda have the time to do them now, but I just haven't. That first comic back from the break is really being an albatross around my neck. I think that if I can get the first one done, it will be easier, but who knows?

The new home comes with all sorts of surprises. So after we finally get the hot water and air conditioner going, I start working on the yard getting the mountain of weeds down to a manageable size. But, wait, what's that in the yard? Why it's my highly allergic friend, poison ivy. Here, Joe, let me swell your hand up to an unholy size and give you some nasty, oozing sores that will sicken your coworkers when they look at you.
I'm sure that the one week will come along when I don't do any work on the new house, and I get to sit back and enjoy what I've bought. Things are starting to come together in a pretty short timeframe, but it will be nice when all the major work is finished, and I can finally kick back.

I never realized how much I enjoyed hot water until this past week. Since I bought a repo home, there are many things that can go wrong for the new home buyer. So far, most of them have. Water Heater? Dead. Air Conditioner? Hope you like hot air, Joe, cause you're going to get it for a while. The phone and broadband are having problems. And even though I hate the nasty fridge that was in the house, I figured I could use it for a bit. Nothing like warm drinks to change that plan. So far, it seems that the only thing that has gone good has been the power and the cable. I expect my power to be off, and I'll have to break out the candles tonight.
Where are you, light at the end of the tunnel? I need to see you.

After nearly four months of searching, I'm finally all set to move. This move has been a rough one for many reasons, but the main reason, though, has been the bank from which we're buying the house. I don't it's humanely possible for someone to provide less information and drag their feet more than they have.
I put in an offer for the house with a deadline of one week. They take two to respond. And that's only to tell me that the paperwork my realtor faxed isn't legible enough. Don't worry, we'll take another three weeks after you send another round of paperwork. This bank has now joined
Washington Mutualand
U-Haul on my growing list of companies on which I wish total damnation.

So I'm getting closer to moving into a new house that is within a reasonable driving distance of my current job. I'm hoping that within a month or so, I can start having the time to do comics again.
I may post a return date for the comics in a few weeks. Be patient. I've not given up on this site just yet.

It's been 2 weeks since I put up a new comic so I decided that I should put something out here. The
comic that you see is me leaving my old job last week. Yay for the new job. Boo for the hour commute until I find a new house closer to my new workplace.
Until I can get all settled in at the new job and house, there just isn't enough time for me to devote to do the comics. Either that or I'm just not committed enough to put forth the effort to do them anymore. It's probably a bit of both.
Anyway, I guess you can call this an announcement of an indefinite hiatus for Business Casual. I hope that I can pick up the pen and start doing the comics again, but I won't make any promises. It's been a fun 2 years and a good outlet for some of my actual job frustration. Maybe we can do it again sometime.
p.s. I never did get a
Despair poster.
